Grazie per aver insegnato agli studenti [dell’Illinois] che la nostra salute mentale è molto meno importante che far sentire sicuri gli adulti triplamente vaccinati.
Grazie per avermi insegnato che, anche il più piccolo rischio non vale la pena di essere corso.
La vita è migliore quando si prende il percorso di minor resistenza, senza possibilità di fallimento e sicuramente senza possibilità di prendere un raffreddore.
Grazie per non aver chiesto agli studenti cosa ne pensiamo delle maschere, perché se lo facessi, la maggior parte degli studenti direbbe che odia le maschere e allora potresti riconsiderare la tua decisione di farcele indossare.
Grazie per avermi permesso di sperimentare l’ansia associata al non vedere mai le espressioni facciali.
Grazie per averci insegnato che non dovremmo mai mettere in discussione l’autorità o pensare criticamente, ma invece dovremmo seguire qualsiasi cosa le persone in carica abbiano scelto di fare. L’obbedienza è la cosa migliore.
Ora mi rendo conto che pensare con la propria testa è sopravvalutato, e non realmente necessario, quando si possono prendere decisioni basate sulla paura.

Mi rendo conto ora di quanto fosse facile quando dovevo preoccuparmi solo delle mie lezioni, dei miei voti, del SAT e di entrare al college.
Grazie per avermi insegnato che l’essere una persona moralmente superiore richiede solo che io mi copra la faccia 8 ore al giorno, e che le persone moralmente più superiori indossano 2 maschere o addirittura 3 maschere.
Come sai, gli stati intorno a noi – Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan e Minnesota – che hanno due volte e mezzo più studenti che in Illinois, non obbligano i ragazzi a indossare maschere. Però sono d’accordo con te. Questi stati sono fuori controllo, mettendo incautamente i bambini a rischio di miseria e morte ogni giorno.
Le maschere funzionano. Anche se questi stati hanno gli stessi risultati dell’Illinois.
A proposito di dati: grazie per aver taciuto sul mascheramento, nonostante il fatto che il COVID19 abbia un tasso di sopravvivenza molto alto nei bambini della mia età.
Chi ha bisogno di dati comunque. Sappiamo tutti che non sarà mai più sicuro vedere la faccia di qualcuno altro.

Thank you for teaching me that, even the most minute risk is not worth taking.
Life is best when you take the path of least resistance, with no chance of failure and definitely no chance of catching a cold.
Thank you for not reaching out to the students, ask how we feel about masks, because if you did, the majority of students would say that they hate masks and then you might second-guess your decision to make us wear them.

Thank you for teaching us that we should never question authority or think critically, but instead we should follow whatever the people in charge chose to do. Obedience is best.
I realize now that thinking for yourself is overrated, and not really necessary, when you can just make decisions based on fear.

I realize now how easy I had it when I only had to worry about my classes, my grades, SAT and getting into college.
Thank you for teaching me that the being a morally superior person only requires that I cover my face 8 hours a day, and that the most morally superior people wear 2 masks or even 3 masks.
As you know, states around us – Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota – which have two and a half times more students than in Illinois, don’t force kids to wear masks. I’m with you though. These states are out of control, recklessly putting kids at risk of misery and death every day.
Masks work. Even if these states have the same outcomes as Illinois.
Speaking of data: thank you for staying silent about masking, despite the fact that COVID19 has a very high survival rate in kids my age.
Who needs data anyway though. We all know that it will never be safe to see anyone’s face ever again.
